European Transport Conference: David Simmonds gave a presentation on the application of the FLUTE model to the assessment of schemes proposed for the Sheffield City Region Investment Fund (SCRIF). He also contributed to tutorial sessions on the principles of transport appraisal and of land-use/transport interaction modelling, and to a discussion on the modelling and appraisal issues raised by the prospect of self-driving vehicles on public roads.
Leicestershire County Council have appointed DSC to work on the long term renewal of the Leicester and Leicestershire Integrated Transport Model (LLITM) to a new base year of 2014. This will involve developing an updated version of the land use model which will incorporate the latest 2011 Census data and include several enhancements to the DELTA package's modelling of development and freight movements.
Previously DSC developed the original 2008 base year LLITM model that was commissioned in 2010.
